I’ve done this event a couple of times before now. I love it. The weather has been kind every time I’ve done this, and the ground is still generally hard enough to make is a pleasant run through the New Forest in Hampshire, UK. It’s so close to my home that I make this a ‘long’ run i.e. I park up a few miles back and run to it, run the mid distance race, then run back to the car. I’ve got a longer run planned for December so this should be a good test of my endurance at the stage in the training too. This run incorporates all the colours of the forest in the winter, with still enough autumnal shades and the crispness of winter to lift your spirits. The planning is great with these guys, and the goody bag and medals are always spot on.
